@CrosbyArboretum Workshop: Bringing Nature to Your Writing

July 29, 2017
10:00 am to 12:00 pm

About this event

When writers use nature as part of their story, they add a deeper dimension of heart and meaning to the work. Yet, nature is more than listing the flora and fauna around the scene. Whether you write poetry, fiction or nonfiction, you will find many opportunities to incorporate the beauty and drama of nature into your work. Author and trainer Mary Beth Magee will share tips and exercises to help you find your voice in nature. You will perk up your writing and perhaps find a whole new topic to cover when you attend this workshop! Admission is free to Crosby Arboretum members and $7 for non-member adults. Call the Crosby Arboretum office at 601-799-2311 for more information and to register by July 28. Follow the Crosby Arboretum on Facebook and Twitter @CrosbyArboretum.

Additional Information
With increasing value being placed on our natural heritage, the Crosby Arboretum in Picayune is the premier native plant conservatory in the Southeast. The arboretum was established as a living memorial to L.O. Crosby Jr. (1907-78) and has expanded to become a resource for education in the region and world. Today, it provides for the protection of the region's biological diversity and serves as a place for the public's enjoyment of plant species native to the Pearl River Drainage Basin of south-central Mississippi and Louisiana.
