Mississippi State University's museums and galleries committee, with support from the Mississippi Humanities Council and Visit Mississippi, is hosting a series of exhibits and events throughout the fall to celebrate Mississippi's bicentennial. For this event, MSU Associate Professor of English and African American Studies Donald Shaffer will give a talk titled "Writing Across the Color Line: Conversations, Intersections and Chance Encounters in Mississippi Literary History." The event is free to all. This official bicentennial project was made possible by a grant from the Mississippi Humanities Council, through support from the Mississippi Development Authority.
