Mississippi State University is expanding to two fall commencement ceremonies. The second fall commencement ceremony on Friday, Dec. 8 takes place at 4 p.m. at Humphrey Coliseum. It will feature graduates of the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences and its School of Human Sciences; College of Business and its Richard C. Adkerson School of Accountancy; James Worth Bagley College of Engineering and its Dave C. Swalm School of Chemical Engineering; and College of Forest Resources. Master’s and doctoral graduates of the College of Veterinary Medicine also will be recognized. Processional starts at 3:30 p.m. Dr. John D. Davis IV of Flowood will deliver the commencement address. Born in Starkville and reared in Jackson, Davis is an MSU summa cum laude biological engineering graduate who went on to earn a professional degree at the prestigious Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine in Baltimore, Maryland. Davis is a surgery division physician at NewSouth Neurospine, a comprehensive multispecialty spine-focused practice in Flowood, where he has particular interest in cervical spine and neck disorders. He was named in August as one of the NFL’s unaffiliated neurotrauma consultants for the 2017 season. Click the "Link" below for a livestream of the Friday ceremony.
