As part of Forge Day at Mississippi State University's Picayune-based Crosby Arboretum, individuals of all ages can enjoy exciting demonstrations by area metalworkers and craftsmen. Attendees can learn the techniques and tips to get started in metalworking. With exhibitor permission and a signed waiver form, participants may try their hand at the forge. Items by craftsmen will be available for purchase. Admission is free to Crosby Arboretum members and their children; $5 for non-members; and $2 for non-members’ children.

With increasing value being placed on our natural heritage, the Crosby Arboretum in Picayune is the premier native plant conservatory in the Southeast. The arboretum was established as a living memorial to L.O. Crosby Jr. (1907-78) and has expanded to become a resource for education in the region and world. Today, it provides for the protection of the region's biological diversity and serves as a place for the public's enjoyment of plant species native to the Pearl River Drainage Basin of south-central Mississippi and Louisiana.
