Director of African American Studies Candidate Interview: Professor Tommy Curry

Professor Tommy Curry, one of three candidates for Mississippi State University's Director of African American Studies position, is giving a public interview on the Starkville campus. All university members are welcome to attend Curry's presentation, which will focus on his vision for the AAS program. Curry is professor of philosophy and affiliate in the program of Africana Studies at Texas A&M University. He also serves as executive director of Philosophy Born of Struggle, the largest and oldest black philosophical organization in America. His research has embraced the bioethics of various medical and health technologies. Curry has published several substantial works on 19th century ethnology and its relationship to race and gender thinking among Americanists. His latest book, "Another White Man's Burden: Josiah Royce's Quest for a Philosophy of White Racial Empire," is forthcoming from SUNY Press.
