School of Architecture Harrison Lecture: Mark West

April 13, 2018 - 4:00 pm to 5:30 pm

Sponsored by Mississippi State's College of Architecture, Art and Design and its School of Architecture, the Harrison Lecture Series concludes with an afternoon presentation by Mark West from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. West has worked as an educator and architectural researcher for 36 years. His work ranges from technical innovations in concrete construction and architecture and structural form to speculative architectural and cultural fictions made through drawing and painting. Among other full-time appointments, West has taught at the University of Manitoba, where he founded the Centre for Architectural Structures and Technology, the first academic laboratory dedicated to research in flexible formworks for concrete structures and architecture.
