About this event

Mississippi State University's Division of Student Affairs is sponsoring "A Seat at the Table" workshop that is designed to equip minority students with the skills and confidence to get involved and pursue leadership positions in campus organizations. All students are welcome to participate for free. However, space is limited, so those interested should register as soon as possible via the OrgSync website. On January 19 from 6-8 p.m., students can interact with student leaders, graduate students and organization advisers during a networking mixer. During the first hour of the mixer, attendees also can participate in three breakout sessions and mock interviews, among other professional development opportunities. On Jan. 20 from 9 a.m.-2:30 p.m., three breakout sessions and a student leader panel will take place. In addition to student leaders from around the Southeastern Conference, participants will hear from Timothy J. "Tim" Fair, chief of staff and special assistant for operations and strategic initiatives at Auburn University's Office of Inclusion and Diversity.
