As part of its "The Story of Plants and People Series," the Mississippi State Trial Gardens is sponsoring a presentation by Mohammed Bashir Salau, associate professor in the Arch Dalrymple III Department of History at the University of Mississippi. Specializing in African and African diaspora history, Salau teaches an African history survey course that provides an introduction to African history and covers the history of Africa since 1800. He also teaches courses on Islam in Africa and the history of slavery in Africa. He is the author of "The West African Slave Plantation" (2011). Click the "Link" below for more information.
