MSU Libraries Banned Book Week

September 24, 2018
to September 28

About this event

Mississippi State University Libraries is sponsoring fun events to celebrate Banned Book Week. On Monday from 10 a.m.-4 p.m., patrons are encouraged to come make their own Banned Book Week T-shirt. The color of the heat transfer vinyl is maroon, so participants are asked to bring a white or light-colored shirt to use. Also on Monday, patrons can start participating in a library scavenger hunt by visiting the library's social media platforms (Facebook @msulibrary│Twitter @msu_libraries│Instagram @msstatelibraries) for clues. Participants who find the mystery books every day will be entered into a drawing for prizes including the grand prize, which is an Owl Crate box. On Tuesday at 1:30 p.m., Starkville Mayor Lynn Spruill will kick off the Banned Book Readings event in the library's third-floor John Grisham Room.
