About this event

Five landscape specialists are offering new ideas on permaculture at Mississippi State University's 63rd Edward C. Martin Jr. Landscape Design Symposium. Open to both professional and hobby gardeners, the symposium is focusing on permaculture, which is a creative design process based on whole-systems thinking informed by ethics and design principles. This year’s speakers include Jared Stanley, owner of J & J Acres in Toomsuba; Sarah Brinker, a permaculture specialist in Asheville, North Carolina; Taze Fulford, associate MSU professor of landscape architecture; Brandon Barton, MSU assistant professor of biology; and Sam McLemore, owner of Bountiful Harvest Farms in Starkville. After the symposium, a 12:30 p.m. tree-planting ceremony at the Landscape Architecture Facility will honor Edward C. Martin Jr., a professor emeritus who died earlier this year. Online pre-registration for the symposium is $25 at https://www.lalc.msstate.edu/workshops/martin/index.php. Registration is $30 at the door. Click the link below for more information.
