'Wrap the Vote' featuring J.I.D

Music Maker Productions and the Student Association at Mississippi State University are welcoming American rapper J.I.D as part of a “Wrap the Vote” event to encourage students to vote on Election Day [Nov. 6]. The event features festival-style activities. Voter information for Election Day also will be available. An opening act will perform at 8 p.m., followed by a 9 p.m. performance from American rapper J.I.D. Born and reared in East Atlanta, J.I.D’s career began in 2012 after he joined Atlanta-based collective Spillage Village, further developing his skills and releasing his “DiCaprio” EP. J.I.D released his debut album “The Never Story” in March 2017 after signing with Interscope Records and Dreamville Records, a label established by Grammy-nominated artist and producer J. Cole. The release of J.I.D’s debut single “Never” generated significant interest from the devoted hip-hop community. Since signing with J. Cole and releasing his debut album, J.I.D has been featured in a BET Awards cypher, made the XXL 2018 Freshman Class, and has worked with numerous successful rappers and producers, including Mac Miller. His highly anticipated sophomore album “DiCaprio 2” is set to release this fall.
