Nikolau, National Science Foundation Division Director to speak

Basil Nikolau, division director for the National Science Foundation’s Division of Molecular and Cellular Biosciences, is giving a presentation for faculty/researchers at Mississippi State. His research interests focus on the biochemistry and molecular biology of biotin and biotin-containing enzymes and the regulation of plant lipid metabolism. In addition to an overview of funding opportunities available from his NSF division, Nikolau will provide tips and strategies for submitting successful proposals. He also will be available to meet one-on-one with MSU faculty/researchers who would like to "pitch" a proposal idea and receive immediate feedback. The one-on-one sessions will be conducted in 20-minute intervals. Anyone wishing to participate in a one-on-one session must contact Lynn Taylor at 662-325-3168 to reserve a spot. Available on a first-come, first-served basis, appointment times will run from 7:30-10:20 a.m. in the Office of Research and Economic Development's conference room.
