About this event

Former astronaut and International Space Station commander Scott Kelly is visiting Mississippi State as featured speaker for the university Student Association’s Global Lecture Series. The event is free and open to the public. Kelly is a former military fighter pilot and commanded the International Space Station on three expeditions. For one mission, Kelly spent 340 days on the International Space Station, marking the longest space mission by an American astronaut. Through social media activity during his missions, Kelly has gained millions of followers on Twitter, Instagram and Facebook. He and his twin brother, Mark, another former astronaut who this week announced his candidacy for the U.S. Senate, recently were featured in a Super Bowl commercial for Amazon.
