About this event

Mississippi State is hosting its first National Council of Teachers of English's National African American Read-In. During this come-and-go event, students, faculty and staff can browse a selection of children's literature and young adult novels by African-American authors. Students in MSU's Southern Literature course also will display their research posters on William Wells Brown's "The President’s Daughter," considered the first novel published by an African-American. The event is co-sponsored by faculty on the College of Education's Diversity Committee and in the Elementary Education program.
