About this event

The Starkville Table of Culinary Justice is a dinner event that will teach participants about the place of food in the social history and identity of the South. Graduate students in Mississippi State's Department of English will explain the backgrounds and significance of the foods that compose the Southern plate, discuss the specific processes that allowed for the assimilation and continuous existence of these cuisines in the South, and advocate for culinary justice. Tickets are $50 each and include a four-course meal and a complimentary gift. Proceeds benefit the Mississippi Food Network (www.msfoodnet.org), an affiliate of Feeding America focused on feeding Mississippians.
