About this event
If bluegrass, folk, country, gospel, blues, Tex-Mex or any other kind of traditional American music has ever touched your heart and soul, then you'll love Steel Betty, an acoustic trio from Austin, Texas. David McD (guitar), Maddy Froncek (upright bass, banjo) and Micah Monteko (mandolin, piano) play with a relaxed, jamming-on-the-front-porch feel and blend their down-home voices in keening harmonies. Opening the show will be JEMS, three female alternative-folk singer-songwriters—including Meridian's own Sarah Margaret Huff—who also intertwine their voices beautifully. Come experience an evening of gorgeous harmonies, enhanced by the crystalline acoustics of the MSU Riley Center's historic Victorian theater.
Patrons can make the evening even more memorable with an optional 6 p.m. pre-show barbecue dinner. A $25 advance purchase is required.
Show tickets are $15 to $60 and can be purchased at www.msurileycenter.com, by phone at 601-696-2200 or in person at the MSU Riley Center Box Office, which is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
