About this event

Join Bully's Human Animal Bond Club for a presentation by Dr. Sharon Grace, MSU College of Veterinary Medicine clinical professor and founder of Safe Haven for Pets, and Abby Miller, executive director of Care Lodge Domestic Violence Shelter.

Admission is free to all for the program.

Launched in 2008, Safe Haven for Pets provides free, temporary boarding and medical care for pets of women and children entering Care Lodge Domestic Violence Shelter in Meridian. Many times, victims are reluctant to leave an abusive relationship because they don't want to leave their pets behind. Through Safe Haven for Pets, women more willingly seek safe shelter, knowing their pets will be safely cared for in their absence.

To date, Safe Haven has sheltered 74 animals belonging to Care Lodge clients, providing nearly 2,600 days of short-term boarding and individualized veterinary medical care with no cost to pet owners.
