About this event

Opening Sept. 29 in the Cullis Wade Depot Art Gallery, "Anonymous Women" is a display of photographs by Patty Carroll. Works in the exhibition are selected from her multiple "Anonymous Woman" projects that portray female figures hidden or obscured from the viewer by colorful textiles, plants and objects.

Carroll is known for her use of highly intense, saturated color photographs. Her most recent project, “Anonymous Women,” addresses women and their complicated relationships with domesticity.

Carroll’s work has exhibited internationally and is featured in prestigious blogs and magazines such as the Huffington Post, The Cut and BJP in Britain. For more on the artist, visit pattycarroll.com.

Carroll will give a public talk at MSU 11 a.m. to noon Sept. 29 in Giles Hall's Harrison Auditorium. In addition to the artist talk, the public is invited to a special gallery reception to meet Carroll from 5-6 p.m. that same day.

The exhibition is on view in the Cullis Wade Depot Art Gallery Sept. 29 through Oct. 29. The gallery is free and open to the public 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and some Saturdays.
