  • National Academies announce Science Breakthroughs 2030: A Strategy for Food and Agricultural Research
    The National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine are pleased to announce Science Breakthroughs 2030: A Strategy for Food and Agricultural Research, a new study to identify ambitious scientific opportunities in food and agriculture made possible by incorporating knowledge and tools from across the science and engineering spectrum. Major funding for the study has been provided by the SoAR Foundation and the Foundation for Food and Agriculture Research. The FFAR Board of Directors is chaired by Mississippi State University President Mark E. Keenum.

  • Mississippi State graduation list, deans’ and president’s lists now posted
    The Mississippi State University deans’ and president’s lists are now available online at www.msstate.edu/students/lists. The university publishes deans' and president's lists for each spring and fall semester for the convenience of the media, friends and family members. Users can select the list, term and year they would like to view. Data can be further filtered by state of residence and home county. The list also may be sorted by city by clicking on the city/state heading.

  • International Institute launches Global Discovery seed grant program
    The International Institute at Mississippi State has launched a new Global Discovery seed grant program. Its purpose is to catalyze international activities with high potential to leverage external funding and promote high impact, scalable, scholarly and creative activities or capacity building, while creating international education opportunities for students. Co-funded by the Division of Agriculture, Forestry and Veterinary Medicine and the Office of Research and Economic Development, the Global Discovery Seed Grant is administered through the International Institute.

  • Mississippi State releases annual ‘Drinking Water Quality Report’
    Mississippi State is pleased to announce that the university’s water system has met all of the requirements of the Mississippi State Department of Health. The water quality report, also referred to as the Consumer Confidence Report, must be provided to customers annually. The annual testing is administered by MSDH.   • SEC's spring college tour draws big crowds in Southern California
    More than 220 high school students and 100 school counselors attended the 2017 Spring SEC College Tour last week in Southern California. The event included stops in San Diego, Pasadena and Irvine. “The quality of students coming from this region is amazing,” said Naron Remillard, the director of student recruitment at Mississippi State University. “They are well-prepared academically and willing to travel for the opportunities that SEC universities have to offer.” In each city, the college fair provided a time for high school students and their parents to visit with SEC admissions representatives.

    Trustee Doug Rouse passed the gavel to incoming President C.D. Smith at the meeting of the IHL Board of Trustees held today in Jackson. Trustee Smith will officially take office on May 8.
