About this event

Higher education has traditionally viewed first-generation students from a deficit perspective.

Georgianna L. Martin, associate professor of counseling and human development services at the University of Georgia, will lead this Webex presentation exploring ways to reframe deficit thinking to asset-based thinking.

Martin is a first-generation student and has published more than 30 articles and book chapters, as well as six books in the fields of higher education and student affairs.
