Departmental Research Administration Workshop

Brandy Akers, director of business operations at Mississippi State University's High Performance Computing Collaboratory, and Courtney Blaylock, accountant for the Dean of Engineering, will discuss the foundations of successful research administration in the context of departmental administration. Topics of discussion include, among others, understanding the role of the department research administrator and how it impacts other offices/departments; best practices of applying the Uniform Guidance regulations to day-to-day transactions; actions taken during the pre-award process that impact effective award management; and ongoing concerns of a departmental administrator during award management.
