@CrosbyArboretum Children's Workshop: Insects

About this event

Children will enjoy this fun and educational entomology event led by Hancock County Extension Agent Christian Stephenson. After a brief overview of insects, including why they are important to our environment, the children will go on an insect collecting expedition around the Crosby Arboretum grounds. Admission is free to Crosby Arboretum members' children and $2 for non-members’ children. Children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian (no charge for adults). With increasing value being placed on our natural heritage, the Crosby Arboretum in Picayune is the premier native plant conservatory in the Southeast. The arboretum was established as a living memorial to L.O. Crosby Jr. (1907-78) and has expanded to become a resource for education in the region and world. Today, it provides for the protection of the region's biological diversity and serves as a place for the public's enjoyment of plant species native to the Pearl River Drainage Basin of south-central Mississippi and Louisiana.
