About this event

Bees and gardens go hand in hand. These pollinating insects offer the benefit of increasing your yield of flowers, fruit and seed. Topics that will be covered include basic bee biology; how to choose the correct equipment and personal protective gear; common mistakes and valuable tips; and how to grow and manage your first colony of bees throughout the year. Admission is free to Crosby Arboretum members and $5 for non-members. Call the Crosby Arboretum office at 601-799-2311 for more information and to register by June 28. Additional Information
With increasing value being placed on our natural heritage, the Crosby Arboretum in Picayune is the premier native plant conservatory in the Southeast. The arboretum was established as a living memorial to L.O. Crosby Jr. (1907-78) and has expanded to become a resource for education in the region and world. Today, it provides for the protection of the region's biological diversity and serves as a place for the public's enjoyment of plant species native to the Pearl River Drainage Basin of south-central Mississippi and Louisiana.
