About this event

Project WILD is one of the most widely-used conservation and environmental education programs by K-12 educators. Sponsored by Mississippi State University's Picayune-based Crosby Arboretum, this free, hands-on interdisciplinary workshop is designed for teachers, home-school educators, and others who serve in a teaching role. Mississippi Museum of Natural Science Outreach Educator Sabrina Cummings will use wildlife topics to illustrate effective strategies for teaching subjects across the curriculum. Participants are welcome to bring a brown bag lunch to enjoy during the workshop. Educators who complete the workshop will receive 0.6 continuing education units at no charge. Call the Crosby Arboretum office at 601-799-2311 for more information and to register by January 17.

Additional Information
With increasing value being placed on our natural heritage, the Crosby Arboretum in Picayune is the premier native plant conservatory in the Southeast. The arboretum was established as a living memorial to L.O. Crosby Jr. (1907-78) and has expanded to become a resource for education in the region and world. Today, it provides for the protection of the region's biological diversity and serves as a place for the public's enjoyment of plant species native to the Pearl River Drainage Basin of south-central Mississippi and Louisiana.
