Sponsored by the Maroon Volunteer Center and the Student Association, The Big Event is a one-day service opportunity for members of the Mississippi State University and local communities to roll up their sleeves and give back. Individual volunteers and groups must register prior to the event. There is no cost to register or participate. Participants will receive a free T-shirt. Volunteer leaders and individual volunteers must check in on Friday [the 23rd] from 2-6 p.m. at the MSU Barnes and Noble Bookstore's patio to collect their T-shirt, meal ticket and volunteer instructions. MSU students, faculty and staff members should bring their MSU ID card to registration. Those who are not affiliated with MSU are asked to bring a form of photo ID. On Saturday at 8 a.m., volunteer groups will head out to their assigned community service locations.
