Terrorism and national security expert to speak at MSU April 5

STARKVILLE, Miss.—A leading expert on terrorism and national security will speak at Mississippi State University on April 5 as part of the International Institute’s Global Engagement Forum.

The Heritage Foundation’s Robin Simcox will give a speech titled “The Islamist Terror Threat: A Perspective from Europe” at 2 p.m. in the Colvard Student Union’s Fowlkes Auditorium. Simcox is the Margaret Thatcher Fellow at the Heritage Foundation’s Margaret Thatcher Center for Freedom. The April 5 event is free and open to the public.

Simcox has authored several works on the terrorist group al-Qaeda, including “Al-Qaeda in the United States,” a monograph profiling every known court conviction in America linked to al-Qaeda. Simcox’s commentary has been published in several prominent international newspapers, and he regularly appears on broadcast and cable news outlets.

The Lincolnshire, England, native received a master’s of science degree in U.S. foreign policy from the University of London’s Institute for the Study of the Americas and a bachelor of arts degree in international history from the University of Leeds.
