Mississippi State’s Department of Music is welcoming prospective music and music education majors and their families Nov. 7 for the university’s 10th annual Music Discovery Day. Nov. 2 is the deadline for $10 online registration at www.music.msstate.edu/discover. During a 9 a.m.-4 p.m. open house, high school juniors and seniors, as well as community college students, will have opportunities for one-on-one visits with faculty members and current students. In addition to learning about the department’s academic programs and music-related career opportunities, participants will observe music classes and attend faculty and student performances.
