Sponsored by Mississippi State's College of Architecture, Art and Design and its School of Architecture, the Harrison Lecture Series continues with an afternoon presentation by architect Merrill Elam. Elam is principal in the firm of Mack Scogin Merrill Elam Architects in Atlanta, Georgia. Her work is derived from an innate desire for architecture that goes beyond mere problem solving to work that addresses her curiosity surrounding the role of architecture in society. Outside of architectural work at her practice, Elam lectures and teaches frequently, most recently as a visiting faculty member at the Georgia Institute of Technology.
