The Mississippi State University Alumni Association's Oktibbeha County Chapter is giving out popsicles to the university's 414-member Famous Maroon Band, the state's largest college band that has been practicing long hours in preparation for Saturday's football season opener at Davis Wade Stadium. Those who would like to help distribute popsicles to the band are encouraged to meet at 5:45 p.m. at the band practice field behind the band hall.
