About this event

Dave "Dr. Dave" Schrader, a popular speaker who connects the dots between business, sports and statistical analysis, is visiting Mississippi State to share his expertise. During his visit, Schrader will deliver a public presentation examining a range of issues, including what's happening around the world to collect and analyze data for recruiting, player development, game planning and injury prevention; how analytics are being used to evaluate and improve business operations, such as ticket pricing, sales and sponsorships; how other parts of the university, like the business school or computer science department, can collaborate with sports programs to provide analytics for teams; and more. Since retiring in 2014 from the high-tech data analytics company Teradata, Schrader has remained active on the board of directors for the Teradata University Network. In this role, he creates materials for faculty and students to facilitate learning math, stats and computer science. He specializes in explaining how to use databases to create insights for business and sports. He holds a Ph.D. in computer science from Purdue University.
