Battle of the Bands is an annual event held in Lee Hall’s Bettersworth Auditorium where local musicians can audition for the chance to open for Mississippi State’s Bulldog Bash. Contestants do not have to be affiliated with Mississippi State to participate, but video performances are due to msummp@gmail.com by 11 p.m. on Aug. 28. Once all submissions are in, videos will be posted to Facebook for the top five contestants to be voted on for the final round on Friday, Sept. 6. Branded as Mississippi’s largest, free outdoor concert, Bulldog Bash will take place in downtown Starkville on Sept. 20, the day prior to the Mississippi State Bulldogs' Southeastern Conference football matchup with the University of Kentucky Wildcats at Davis Wade Stadium.
