About this event

Budgeting is one of the first actions taken in the putting together a proposal. Even though it is a best estimate of the project costs, it involves meticulous planning and forethought of the project needs and when expenses will be incurred.

In this eight-week series, we will be breaking the budget down into line items to discuss the basic rules and typical charges.

The series schedule is as follows:

  • Oct. 1: Cost Principles and Direct vs. Indirect Costs, Stephanie Hyche and LeLe Kirkpatrick
  • Oct. 7: Roles and Responsibilities and Building Your Budget, Asia Sherrod
  • Oct. 14: Equipment and Travel, Tina Kinard
  • Oct. 21: Salary and Fringe, KarLee Perkins
  • Oct. 28: Participant Costs and Materials and Supplies, Becky Bassett
  • Nov. 4: Other Direct Costs, Subawards and Indirect Costs, Jared Dees
  • Nov. 11: Cost Share (a broad overview), Penny French
  • Nov. 18: Budget Justification, KarLee Perkins

You can register for however many sessions you would like to attend.
