Chinese New Year, or Chinese Spring Festival, is the most important and longest holiday in China.
The Holmes Cultural Diversity Center at Mississippi State is sponsoring a free Chinese New Year International Gala for students, faculty and staff on Friday [Feb. 20]. The event lineup includes traditional Chinese and international performances, festival celebrations, food, prizes, and a few surprises.
Beginning at 5:30 p.m., free food will be served at the Wesley Foundation's center on East Lee Blvd., which is located across the street from the Baptist Student Union.
The performances will get underway at 6:30 p.m. in Lee Hall's Bettersworth Auditorium.
