STARKVILLE, Miss.--Mississippi State's Lyceum Series program Feb. 16 also will include an off-campus dinner prior to the theatrical performance in the university's historic Lee Hall.

In addition to the New York-based Aquila Theatre's 7:30 p.m. presentation of Shakespeare's "The Tempest," the Center for Student Activities is joining with The Veranda restaurant to offer a special four-course meal for interested patrons.

General admission tickets for the Bettersworth Auditorium seats are $25 each and may be purchased in advance at www.lyceum.msstate.edu. Seating for MSU employees is $20 each; $12 for ages 3-12; and free for enrolled students with campus identification cards.

When completing the online order, patrons also may register for the $35-per-person four-course meal that includes a non-alcoholic beverage and tax.

The Veranda is a well-known establishment on Loxley Way that adjoins the southwest side of campus property.

As an additional activity for audience members, Aquila troupe members will sponsor a pre-performance discussion in the Lee auditorium, beginning at 6:30 p.m. While on campus, they also will be leading a master class for communication/theater majors and faculty members.

Founded in London in 1991, Aquila is a not-for-profit company based since 1999 in New York City. With a mission to bring the world's greatest theatrical works to as many audiences as possible, it presents 70 U.S. shows each year. For more, visit www.aquilatheatre.com.

Believed to be Shakespeare's final play, "The Tempest" incorporates magic and the supernatural in the romantic comedy about Prospero, Duke of Milan.

After being usurped and exiled by his brother, Prospero is stranded on a remote island with beautiful daughter Miranda, an island resident from a very young age. Hoping both to restore Miranda to her rightful place and to seek revenge, he conjures a storm to shipwreck his brother and others that conspired against him.

Just as his retribution finally is within reach, Miranda falls for the son of a conspirator and the relationship with her father is put to the test.
