MSU to host kick-off event for Mississippi Chapter of the Fulbright Association

STARKVILLE, Miss.—The Mississippi Chapter of the Fulbright Association will celebrate its recent formation with a March 31 kick-off workshop and luncheon at The Mill at MSU Conference Center.

The luncheon will feature a keynote address from Allan Goodman, president of the Institute for International Education. Peter Vanderwater, director of outreach for the Fulbright Scholar Program, will lead a free workshop showcasing how faculty can expand their research and professional connections through the Fulbright program.

Sponsored by the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs, the Fulbright program is the U.S. government’s flagship international exchange program. With the formation of the Mississippi chapter, the Fulbright Association has approximately 60 chapters across the U.S. Chapters provide opportunities for networking, professional development, mentoring, cultural enrichment and service programs for both current scholars and Fulbright program alumni. The Mississippi Chapter of the Fulbright Association is led by Richard Nader, MSU associate vice president for international programs and executive director of the International Institute.
