STARKVILLE, Miss. – Theatre MSU’s annual Theatre for Young Audience production opens the season this weekend with playwright Linda Daugherty’s adaptation of “The Little Mermaid.”
The two-act classic will be featured Saturday [Sept. 30] at 2 p.m. at the university’s McComas Hall main stage. The students also are giving special performances for local elementary students throughout the week.
Tickets for the Saturday production are $10 each if purchased at the door. Season admission is $30, which includes four shows for the price of three throughout the Theatre MSU season.
Originally written by Hans Christian Andersen, the story showcases the visual ocean world and brings to life the tale of a young mermaid who longs to experience the surface above the waters.
