STARKVILLE, Miss.—Students and community members who would like to star in a suspense thriller movie may get their opportunity this weekend [Feb. 24-25] when Mississippi Film Group holds an open casting call on the Mississippi State campus.

Filmmakers are selecting cast members for the feature “The Craving,” scheduled for filming in March in Starkville. The casting call is open to all Saturday and Sunday from noon to 5 p.m. at the Department of Art Gallery in McComas Hall, 216 President’s Circle. Mississippi Film Group is holding the casting call in cooperation with the university’s Department of Art and the Department of Communication’s Theatre MSU.

The movie’s storyline involves a mother and recovering heroin addict who wants to regain custody of her young son. She must prove her rehabilitation by taking up work at an eerie Bed and Breakfast that, like her, carries a sinful past.

Those who plan to audition should bring two current headshots and resumes, which should list prior film experience, Internet Movie Database (IMDb) and reel links. Sides will be available at the audition and actors will have time to look over them, as well as use them during the audition. Featured background roles will receive further instruction on the day of audition. Those unable to audition live may send headshots, resume, acting reel links and IMDb page to Michael.mississippifilmgroup@gmail.com.
