Mississippi State University and the Search Committee for the Dean of the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences and Director of the university’s Mississippi Agricultural and Forestry Experiment Station invite interested members of the campus community to attend public presentations by each finalist.
There will be four opportunities for MSU Faculty, Staff and Stakeholders to meet the candidate. There will be two opportunities at the Starkville campus on Tuesday, Dec. 7. There also will be opportunities in Jackson and Stoneville on Wednesday, Dec. 8.
The candidate will provide two different presentations with one in Starkville on Dec. 7 and one in Stoneville on Dec. 8.
Those interested are welcome to attend one or more of the meetings and are encouraged to observe both presentations. All meetings and presentations will be available in person and virtually. Please review the candidate’s itinerary for locations, times and links.

Candidate One: Dr. Scott Willard
Dr. Scott T. Willard currently serves in as the Interim Dean, College of Agriculture and Life Sciences, and Interim Director, Mississippi Agricultural and Forestry Experiment Station, at Mississippi State. He previously has served as the university’s Associate Dean of CALS and Head of the Department of Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Entomology, and Plant Pathology. The Professor of Reproductive and Environmental Physiology joined the MSU faculty and the Department of Animal and Dairy Sciences in 1999.
Dr. Willard did a postdoctoral fellowship in cell biology and anatomy at the Medical University of South Carolina and completed doctoral work in physiology of reproduction at Texas A&M University, where he also completed his master’s degree. He has an undergraduate degree in animal science and technology from the University of Rhode Island.
