Earlier this week, Mississippi State's Japanese Club hosted an origami station in the Colvard Student Union to showcase and teach the paper folding technique. The origami station event is one of many being sponsored by the Richard E. Holmes Cultural Diversity Center and International Institute in celebration of worldwide International Education Week. A joint initiative of the U.S. departments of State and Education, the national program was created 16 years ago to encourage local opportunities for celebrating the many benefits of international education and exchange programs. IEW at MSU provides members opportunities to interact with people of every nationality and develop a broader understanding of world cultures and languages. It also promotes international travel and education among students.
