The Mississippi State University Student Association's diversity and inclusion committee hosted Lantern Night Thursday [Nov. 19] at Chadwick Lake. Held in conjunction with the Holmes Cultural Diversity Center's International Education Week to celebrate 50 years of diversity at MSU, the event allowed participants to write messages on the lanterns before releasing them into the night sky. Dr. Richard E. Holmes, the first African-American to enroll at Mississippi State, attended the event.
