Mississippi State biological sciences doctoral students Jeanette B. "Jen" Moss from New Market, Maryland, and Michael E. Kartje from Murphysboro, Illinois, take a blood sample from a male Sister Isles Rock Iguana (SIRI) captured during field research in the Cayman Islands. When Moss returns to Mississippi State in the fall, she plans to use samples taken from iguanas across Little Cayman to learn about the genetics and ecology of the SIRI population on the island. Moss and Kartje both are being mentored by biological sciences associate professor Mark Welch.
