The head of Millsaps College's English department presents a poetry reading Monday [April 10] at Mississippi State University.

Greg Miller, who released a book-length collection of poems in 1998, will be featured at an 8 p.m. public program in the Mitchell Memorial Library auditorium. His book, "Iron Wheel," is a University of Chicago Press publication dealing with issues and realities of contemporary life in the South.

Coinciding with National Library Week, Miller's visit to campus is sponsored by the MSU English department, with support from Friends of the Libraries.

Miller, who holds the Stewart Family Chair in Languages and Literature at the Jackson college, is a specialist in 17th century British literature and church history. His poems also have appeared in such journals as The Paris Review, The Chicago Review, and Verse.

A Kentucky native, he completed degrees at Vanderbilt and Stanford universities and University of California, Berkeley.

For more information about the reading, telephone (662) 325-3644.
