Pete Hodo Jr. (second from left) and Harvey Buck of West Point (right) recently presented the final installment of a $6.45 million John P. "Polly" Hosmer estate gift to Mississippi State University President Malcolm Portera (second from right). Hosmer, a 1929 mechanical engineering graduate from West Point who died in 1993, designated the endowment for College of Engineering scholarships and education program enhancements. Hodo is the estate's executor, while Buck is its attorney. Joining the three Clay Countians for the presentation is MSU engineering dean Wayne Bennett.
