Left, Professor Louis R. D'Abramo and senior Sebron J. Harrison of Prentiss are the 2002 HEADWAE Student and Faculty Member of the Year at Mississippi State University. The honors are given as part of the Mississippi Legislature's annual Higher Education Appreciation Day/Working for Academic Excellence program. Harrison, a biological engineering major and Ottilie Schillig Leadership Scholar, is MSU Student Association president. D'Abramo, a John Grisham Master Teacher and member of the department of wildlife and fisheries, is an internationally recognized researcher in the field of commercial aquaculture. They and the 74 other honorees from 38 Mississippi public and private universities and colleges were honored recently in Jackson.
