University Relations News Bureau (662) 325-3442 Contact: Maridith Geuder August 28, 2002

A series of events at Mississippi State early next month will help students hone their job-search skills in areas ranging from interviewing to dining etiquette.

The Sept. 9-13 Career Awareness Week is sponsored by the university's Career Center.

"The various activities are designed to immerse students in the skills necessary to navigate the job-search process," said center director Luther B. Epting. "These include everything from creating effective resumes to identifying employment possibilities in a tough economy."

Epting said corporate sponsors help to both underwrite the expense and provide the expertise for the Monday-Friday programs. Career Week culminates with a Friday barbecue lunch on the campus Drill Field.

Activities will begin on the 9th with an 11 a.m. registration blitz on the Drill Field. Successive Career Week sessions--most being held in Colvard Union locations--include:
