Jackson restaurant executive to speak

Jackson businessman LeRoy Walker will be featured speaker March 26 for a distinguished executive lecture program at Mississippi State University.

Walker, owner and operator of LTM Enterprises Inc., will be the Leo W. Seal Jr. Distinguished Executive Speaker for an 8 a.m. public program sponsored by the College of Business and Industry. Entrepreneurship will be the general theme of his remarks.

The lecture will be held in the Rogers Auditorium of McCool Hall. A reception will follow.

Walker, a former Illinois public school teacher and football coach, owns 10 McDonald's fast-food restaurants in Jackson. He also has served as president of McDonald's franchise cooperatives in Mississippi and Nebraska.

An active member of the capital city community, he has served on more than two dozen organizations, committees and boards. He is president of 100 Black Men of Jackson.

Walker is a graduate of Tennessee State University in Nashville and Sangamon State University in Springfield, Ill.

The lecture series is named for the 1949 business college alumnus and longtime head of the Gulfport-based Hancock Banking System. Leo W. Seal Jr. long has been a major supporter of business and athletic programs at his alma mater.
