STARKVILLE, Miss.--Applications are being accepted for a June 19-24 Children's Musical Theater Camp at Mississippi State University.

Students in grades 1-6 will be on campus 1-4:30 p.m. each day, learning the basics of singing, acting, set construction, and a 16-bar audition piece. They also will learn about classic Broadway musicals.

Sponsored by the MSU music education department, the summer experience will conclude with a final evening performance on the 24th in Dorman Hall auditorium.

Bruce Lesley, director of choral activities, will serve as camp director. Previous groups under his direction have won numerous awards and honors.

Tuition, which is $100 per student, includes the cost of all materials, a daily snack, certificate of completion, and a T-shirt. Full payment must be received seven days prior to the start of camp.

A $25 deposit also must accompany each application. The deposit applies toward the tuition and will be refunded if notice is received at least seven days prior to the start of camp.

For additional information or to register, write to Lesley in care of the Music Education Department, P.O. Box 6240, Mississippi State, MS 39762. He also may be reached at (662) 325-3070.
