STARKVILLE, Miss.--Blake W. Hudson is being promoted to director of development for Mississippi State University's Bagley College of Engineering.

The college's assistant development director since 2002, the Tupelo native and 1989 MSU industrial engineering graduate succeeds John P. Rush, who now is the MSU Foundation's major gifts director.

Hudson was associate director of fund development for Campus Crusade for Christ's Southeastern region before coming to work at the university. Prior to that, he was a staff engineer with the Memphis (Tenn.) Light, Gas and Water Dept.

One of the two oldest academic programs at the land-grant university, the Bagley College enrolls more than 2,600 undergraduate and graduate majors. It currently ranks 24th among national public and private engineering colleges in research and development expenditures, according to the National Science Foundation.
