STARKVILLE, Miss.--William Person of Mississippi State (c) is receiving the state's 2006 Black Educator of the Year Award. Recognizing outstanding service, the honor is presented by the Board of Trustees, State Institutions of Higher Learning each March as part of its Black History Month observance. Person is the longtime director of MSU graduate studies and a professor of curriculum and instruction. Extending congratulations were College Board member Bob Owens of Jackson (l) and MSU President Charles Lee.
