Sophomore Danielle Smith of Meridian is the new Miss Mississippi State University. The clinical exercise physiology major and daughter of C.D. and Linda Smith will represent the 128-year-old land-grant institution in the 2007 Miss Mississippi Pageant next summer in Vicksburg. A member of the MSU Pom Squad, she is planning a career as a physical therapist or dance choreographer. Smith was among a dozen students vying for the title in the Thursday night [Nov. 9] campus pageant.
